Innovation
PYP Unit 2 – Where We Are in Place and Time |
We started the
second unit of PYP which is based around the idea of innovation. There is a
focus on the history of different inventions. As a science focus, we will
also be studying electricity and magnets.
The central idea
  is:
·
  Innovation leads to discovery
and helps to develop new understanding.
In the first
week, students defined innovation and did some activities to understand that
the objects around us all have a history, with many from ancient
civilizations. Students also started to learn about electricity, the science
behind it and also its importance in history.
As an example,
we will work through a short research project next week on history of the
  wheel. |
